I always dreamed of going to the Maldives and I always said I would go there on my honeymoon! Luckily I found my amazing husband and I had no doubt of what to pick for my honeymoon destination!
The Maldives is the smallest Asian country and it’s located in the Indian Ocean. Normally when I go on holidays I love to explore and visit several different places while travelling, but, this time, I just wanted something romantic to rest after the craziness of the wedding preparation.
Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives
Every resort in the Maldives has its own private island and we decided to stay at Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives. We stayed in a water villa and even had a Jacuzzi on our balcony…I know a bit too much but hey it was our honeymoon! So let me take you into a more visual post this time because only photos or videos can do justice to this paradise.
Cheesy honeymoon pictures Alert!
On average the temperatures were between 36°C-30°C, dropping to about 23°C at night
My days over there were either under water or lying on the beach soaking up the sun and drinking cocktails, it was very relaxing and I just enjoyed the simple life of the island.
Most days after breakfast, we snorkeled around our villa, because that was the time we would see more fish as the water was as clear as a pool.
With a chain of 26 atolls (ring-shaped coral reef) with live coral reefs and sand this is the lowest country in the world. This is why they are at imminent risk of being submerged and everyone is so careful with it, respecting their natural beauty. We could see why when we went on a snorkel tour to Kiki Reef and Lion’s head Reef. In the amazing coral reefs we saw numerous species of fish with every colour you think of, sea turtles, corals of all colours and shapes, molluscs, crabs, shrimps.
Kiki Reef and Lion’s head Reef
In the island we would go around to see the sharks! These are the black tip reef sharks and they normally like shallow waters. Nothing to be scared of, they are vegetarian!
Diving in the Maldives
We also went diving and it was very beautiful. I got carried around by the diving instructor just because I could – diving DIVA!
At night time we would just relax in between more cocktails (yeah, that’s right!) and delicious cuisine experiences…and we also enjoyed the trio of singers that would play any of our favourite songs and have just getting married made it very romantic.
Romantic is not enough!
The Sand sofa dining experience is something to do once in a lifetime if you can, I wouldn’t normally spend extra money on an all inclusive holidays but again it was a special occasion and I must say it was one of the most romantic dinners of my life!!!
So, that’s what the Maldives are all about, RELAX! I will leave you with a small video that I shared during last week and hope I inspired you to go and visit, there are lots of different options and prices when it comes to the Maldives, just buy the ticket, don’t think too much! ✔️
